Watch Intro Video

In the book, Love & Respect, I spell “love” to a wife as C.O.U.P.L.E. and “respect” to a husband as C.H.A.I.R.S. Look at the list below and consider how you might express thankfulness to your spouse.

As a wife, thank your husband for at least one of the ways he shows you love.

As a husband, thank your wife for at least one of the ways she shows you respect.

FOR WIVES TOWARD THEIR HUSBANDS:

Closeness – THANK YOU for being with me face to face.

Openness – THANK YOU for not being secretly mad at me.

Understanding –  THANK YOU for empathizing with me.

Peacemaking –  THANK YOU for your efforts to resolve and reconcile.

Loyalty –  THANK YOU for being completely committed to me.

Esteem –  THANK YOU for treasuring me above all else.

FOR HUSBANDS TOWARD THEIR WIVES:

Conquest – THANK YOU for appreciating my desire to work and achieve.

Hierarchy – THANK YOU for appreciating my desire to provide and protect.

Authority – THANK YOU for appreciating my desire to be strong and to lead.

Insight – THANK YOU for appreciating my desire to analyze and counsel.

Relationship – THANK YOU for appreciating my desire for a shoulder to shoulder friendship.

Sexuality – THANK YOU for appreciating my desire for sexual intimacy.

Ready, set, check the box.

Will you write it in a note? Will you tell your spouse face-to-face the next time you’re alone? Or will you text or call, instead?

I have given you the message. You decide the method.

Aren’t you thankful?
