How Positive Are You With Each Other?

Philippians 4:8

Finally, my brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things (NIRV).

Prayer: Thank the Lord for Paul’s reminder list in Philippians 4:8. Ask Him for the discipline to apply this list to each other as you seek to always see your marriage glass half full and more.

Action: Try being “giant highlighters” this week and write down lists of what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and worthy of respect about each other. Then talk about what you see in each other that is excellent and praiseworthy. When negative things come up (and they will), deal with them together in a positive way. (For discussion questions, see page 263 in Appendix A.)
