I Just Want My Wife Happy [Video]
Many husbands share that they want their wives happy. I believe most of them are sincere.
SOME DISCOUNT A HUSBAND’S SINCERITY
But as you probably know some folks do not think you really care all that much about your wife's happiness. To them, you are more words than actions.
Shaunti Feldhahn, a superb researcher writes, “I must confess it actually took me years to understand what I was hearing when so many men said, ‘I just want my wife to be happy.’ I discounted their comments since I assumed they were saying it because it’s something they felt they should say.”
RESEARCH REVEALS A HUSBAND’S GENUINENESS
But in researching 1,000 couples she discovered to her welcomed surprise that “It’s not just a platitude: he really wants her to let him know that he’s made her happy!” (page 31)
I agree with Shaunti.
More so, I agree with the Bible.
THE BIBLE AFFIRMS THE HUSBAND
In 1 Corinthians 7:33 (NASB) Paul writes that the husband “is concerned about…how he may please his wife.” Truly he wants her happy!
Though you do not always know how to please your wife and though you readily acknowledge that you do things that contribute to your wife’s forlorn frame of mind, nonetheless, you speak truthfully about wanting your wife happy while living with you.
Abba Father affirms that you are concerned about pleasing your wife. You are not lying.
YES, THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS
For certain, not all husbands care about their wives’ happiness. We have all observed a husband walking out on his wife for Miss Bimbo.
Though Paul reveals that a husband is concerned about pleasing his wife, he also pens that a husband can wrongly leave his wife (1 Corinthians 7:15), and Jesus teaches the reality and evil of adultery (Mark 10:11).
But if you are still reading this blog, you are not that type of man. You truly wish for your wife to smile, laugh, and enjoy you.
SINCERE MEN MUST NOT QUESTION THEIR OWN SINCERITY
I salute you! I believe you are sincere.
But more importantly I want you to believe that you are sincere. I do not want you to doubt your authenticity because of cynicism shown toward you by others when you say, “I want my wife happy.”
You are a good willed man. Do not let doubts creep in and defeat you, especially when your wife vents, “I am not happy.”
Do not be like the man who calls it quits because he says to himself, “Well, maybe I am deluded. Maybe I don’t care. Maybe there is no way I can make her happy. What’s the point in trying?”
Hold your horses!
SINCERE MEN STAY THE COURSE AND FIND HAPPINESS
Research reveals that the majority of marriages that were “very unhappy” were happy five years later.
So, do not quit!
Let my words about your sincerity motivate your confidence and efforts.
More importantly let the Lord inspire you. As He revealed, you are "concerned about…how" you "may please" your "wife.” Do not believe otherwise!

Questions to Consider
- What will happen if you exclaim to your wife, “Read this article about my sincerity. You are wrong for accusing me of making you unhappy!”?
- How might your wife respond if you said, “Honey, I know that I contribute to your unhappiness. However, I am making adjustments to halt those things that upset you."?
