Are You Praying For God’s Power In Your Marriage?

Play Arrow
Watch Intro Video

When you feel helpless in your marriage, where do you turn? Is this moment of feeling weak an opportunity to encounter the power of God on your behalf? If so, how do you receive this inner power?

PRAY:

Lord, Your Word says that Your grace is sufficient for me and that Your power is made perfect in my weakness.

Right now, Lord, I am very weak. My marriage reveals things about me that I do not enjoy seeing, things that evidence my imperfection and vulnerabilities.

I know that, apart from You on many fronts, I can do nothing. I cannot love and respect perfectly (Ephesians 5:33). I cannot love as I should when I feel disrespected. I cannot respect as I should when I feel unloved. It isn’t in me.

But I thank You and praise You for bringing me to this place where I must depend entirely on You. I cannot straighten out my marriage in my own strength, which is a lesson You want me to learn.

I praise Your name for the opportunity to walk by faith, trusting only You for each day.

Now I know that, when I am weak, then I am strong because Your power rests on me.

In Christ’s name. Amen.

Isaiah 40:29,31 --“He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power...those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”

2 Corinthians 12:9,10 --“And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses...with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Ephesians 3:16 --“that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man…”

Philippians 4:13 --“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
