    Default prayer

    I want you to know that I am consistently praying for all of you on this forum... those who post as well as those who browse... I pray for every man or woman who is standing for their marriage... and believe me, I will not STOP!

    I am also often asking for prayer for myself, my husband, our marriage and our family...

    I have a specific prayer right now.

    My husband went to the Promise Keepers (PK) conference about a month ago. A dear friend of ours is recruiting for their Discipleship training program... she told me about 6 months ago (at her husband's funeral) that my husband said he would join. Her husband was very involved with PK. She tactfully mentioned it last night at our small group, and afterward told me that they would be calling and contacting my husband SOON to encourage him to sign up.. the first meeting takes place end of January...

    Please pray that he will go. and that he will be blessed by it.

    Also, please pray for my dear friend, Terri, as she lost her husband to cancer this past spring, and is having a lot of health problems herself right now. She has been my earthly pillar.

    Please post your specific prayer requests, too, so myself and others can pray more effectively..

    THANKS!

    Default I don't know what ask for

    I thank you all for your prayers for my family.

    God is working through this and I am indeed a better father because of this.

    However, my kids are losing the only home they've known, and their mother is intent on breaking up the family.

    Please pray that my kids are given angels to protect them during this, and that God turns even this to our good. I don't know what the future holds, but our divorce date in January is coming up fast.

    I don't want this divorce, but God's in control, and he has been there for us during this trial, so I will trust him.

    God Bless

    Lostlove...

    I have been praying for you, your wife and your children
    ... and will continue to do so. I will not Stop!

    And I know that my husband is being prayed for, as the Devil
    is definitely fighting for his soul... :(

    Satan is the master at breaking up families... lack of love/respect
    in a marriage is his foothold to "get" one spouse, thus breaking the
    marriage and the whole family...

    Please continue to pray for all those standing for their marriage...

    DON'T GIVE SATAN A FOOTHOLD!!!!!

    Sue, i pray for your family as i pray for my own. I have so much to learn to be of value to my wife in a way that draws her nearer. I do not wish for satan to be victorious over my marriage. I pray for wisdom to know these things before its too late. Continue to treasure the moments you have with your spouse even tho it may be during a hurtful situation. Jesus loved even though we weren't worth it. Thats how i wish to love my wife. Even Tho. I pray she does the same just as I pray your husband learns this lesson.

    Default If you can please talk to Jesus for me. I am so tired

    I just need some light in this storm. I have been on my knees since January, and my marriage is being broken. My kids are suffering, There just isnt any happiness. I am financially and emotionally done. I don't have anything left.

    God stands by silently as this all falls. His timing is not understandable by me. where is his peace and love? why does he stand by while I cry out to him?

    When it's difficult to pray, lostlove, remember Paul's words:

    Romans 8: 26-27

    26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

    27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

    We're praying for you, too, lostlove.

    Default Psalm 44 & Romans 8

    Lostlove, I share this in the hope that it will provide comfort.

    If it seems too much to process right now, please just set it aside.

    Psalm 44 speaks of the experience of God’s silence. In Praying With The Psalms: A Year of Daily Prayers and Reflections on the Words of David, Eugene Peterson provides excerpts from Psalm 44 and commentary.

    Psalm 44:1

    1 We have heard with our ears, O God;
    our fathers have told us
    what you did in their days,
    in days long ago.

    Peterson write: “The psalmist is dismayed by what is happening to his people (vv. 9-13). But he experiences his present trouble in the perspective of the long-term faithfulness and power of God (vv. 1-8). A good memory is a great asset for Christians.

    Prayer: By your grace, God, I will meet challenges, disappointments, joys, and sorrows with a mind packed with lively memories of your power and love, knowing that what you were yesterday you will be today and forever, even in Jesus Christ.”

    Psalm 44: 22 – 26

    22 Yet for your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.

    23 Awake, O Lord! Why do you sleep?
    Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever.

    24 Why do you hide your face
    and forget our misery and oppression?

    25 We are brought down to the dust;
    our bodies cling to the ground.

    26 Rise up and help us;
    redeem us because of your unfailing love.

    Peterson writes: “The apostle Paul, writing to the Romans (8:36), remembers Psalm 44:22.”

    Romans 8:35-39

    35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

    36As it is written:
    "For your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

    37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

    38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,

    39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    “A comparison between the psalmist and Paul as they write about suffering is a dramatic example of the difference Christ has made.

    Prayer: Reinforce my conviction, Father, that nothing can separate me from your love, that there are no places where you are absent, no times when you are asleep, that you are in all times and all places for me in Jesus Christ.”

    Lostlove, I hope that right now, when God seems silent, you will recognize your anguish for what it is - a sign of your connection to and love for God.

    Default Prayer

    Please pray with me. My husband asked me to decide what a fair amount of child support would be and what the divorce papers should say because he wants to buy a truck and needs to know what kind of payments he can afford. (by text)

    I want to respectfully decline to answer. I don't believe divorce is our only option. I feel his dad is pushing him to divorce. Both are unbelievers.

    Prayers are working because the devil is really fighting hard for Joe...

    Thank you.
